WAMMI has been used in many sectors such as banking and finance, travel, telecom and IT and all sizes of transactional (e-commerce) sites. It has also been applied to corporate intranet solutions.

WAMMI has been used in the public sector (e-government). It has been broadly recommended, for instance, by the UK guidelines for public sector websites.

The unique WAMMI international database containing over 200 site evaluations has also been partitioned for different site types, such as transactional sites, financial sites and B2B sites.
